The name 'Jacaranda' has a Guarani origin (South America) and it means 'fragrant'. Generally grown as an ornamental plant throughout the subtropical regions of the world. 


The delicate green foliage of this Jacaranda turns golden in Winter before it falls. The iconic summer flowers (when mature) are purple which completely cover the canopy as per example photo. Native to Brazil this beautiful plant has fern-like leaves and beautiful purple flowers which are up to 5 cm, however it may take years to flower.
